JAYF provides homes for young people who, through no fault of their own, have been denied the opportunity of a normal home life and are in need of security and help. The charity has four homes on the island providing bedsit accommodation for 26 young people, typically aged between 18 and 25. Each has a caretaker. The Association also employs a youth counsellor to ensure there is someone to turn to at any time for emotional support, help with employment and access to training and education.

JAYF (the Jersey Association for Youth and Friendship) was founded in 1961

How you can help?
JAYF is an independent Jersey charity and relies almost entirely on funds raised within the island
Volunteering
Our main fundraising activity is an annual Open Garden programme. The owners of some of Jersey’s most beautiful gardens very generously open them to the public for JAYF’s benefit each year. Help at these events – for example, overseeing parking, collecting money at the gate or serving our delicious cream teas – is always warmly welcomed.
Financial support
We need donations and bequests to ensure JAYF’s future.
Tell people about us
Those youngsters most in need of the home that JAYF can provide need to know where to turn.
