Ice Age Island Open Day

Visit the excavations at Les Varines, the late Ice Age encampment in St Saviour that is being investigated by experts from University College London as an ongoing project. Dating to 14,500 years ago, this site preserves exceptional evidence for modern human hunters recolonising northern Europe after the coldest period of the last Ice Age. During the tour you will get to visit the site under excavation, see finds and learn about the development of Jersey’s Ice Age landscape.
Meet at JCG carpark before a short walk to the site over rough ground, please wear suitable walking shoes.
