Operation Nestegg – Codeword Goat

Join the Force 135 Living History Group at Elizabeth Castle on the 4 and 5 August, when they will re-enact the vital role played by the Allied Forces immediately after the Liberation of Jersey on 9 May 1945.

Troops from the Royal Signals, Navy and Artillery will gather at the Castle with their military vehicles, set up a control station, telephone exchange and barrack room and begin the dangerous task of making it safe.

Activities and displays

Saturday:

• Barrack Room and Naval Outpost  @ 10:00-17:00.

• Military vehicles on display @ 10:00-17:00.

• Operational briefing in governor’s house @ 11:00.

• Mine clearance demonstration @ 15:00.

 

Sunday:

• Barrack Room and Naval Outpost @ 10:00-16:00.

• Military vehicles on display @ 10:00-17:00.

• Operational briefing in governor’s house @ 11:00.

• Mid-day parade @ 12:00.

• Cannon firing @ 13:00.

• Mine clearance demonstration @ 14:00.
