The St Lawrence Pillar and a Walk With Vikings

Frank Falle takes us on an historical walk, looking for evidence to explain the origins of the 4th century pillar in St Lawrence Church, that was discovered 3 feet below the nave floor. The mystery takes us on a circular walk, starting at the church, up Mill Brook/Dannemarshe Valley to Quetivel Mill, and returning via Hamptonne. Warning: the route was once inhabited by Vikings, but we think they’re all gone.
An easy walk, but suitable walking shoes are required. Parking available around St Lawrence Church.
