La Hougue Bie / 7 to 11 August

We’re going potty for pottery with ceramicist Lindsay Rutter this week. Pottery is an ancient art form so where better to pinch, coil and roll your own Neolithic-inspired pot than La Hougue Bie, with the replica Neolithic Longhouse there as inspiration. Using natural materials found around the site, Lindsay will show you how to add expression and create pattern to decorate your own masterpiece.
Lindsay completed a degree in Design specialising in Ceramics in 2022 and has exhibited in the UK and Jersey. Her introduction to ceramics sparked a joy of creating that she can’t wait to share with visitors to La Hougue Bie.
  • Monday to Friday, 14 to 18 August / 11am to 3pm

Hamptonne / 14 to 18 August

Wild Play Days at Hamptonne are perfect for connecting with each other and nature through crafts, skill learning and free play. Each day will be led and supported by naturalist Stephen Le Quesne. Stephen is a Forest School and Bushcraft Leader with a passion for outdoor play. He provides the materials and guidance and the children and their adults create the activities and the play that follows. In previous years, we have whittled sticks, created dens, weaved wands and built bow ’n’ arrows. This year will be no different with plentiful resources and help available for you to fill your day and explore the natural world.

  • Monday to Friday, 21 to 25 August / 11am to 3pm

Mont Orgueil Castle / 21 to 25 August

Explore and create with artist Jools Holt at the magnificent Mont Orgueil Castle. Jools is well-known for her Jersey Icon series, in which she explores new ways to transform buildings and monuments into contemporary artworks using collage, photography, paint and software. Get to know the exhibits within the Castle through observational drawing, and create your own Island Icon with Jools’ guidance using Mont Orgueil as inspiration.
