Explore the extensive gardens and woodland set around a traditional farmhouse. The beautiful valley contains native and species trees including many magnolias and camellias, and there are ponds fringed with gunnera and arum lilies. The main garden is a riot of colour and scent throughout the seasons.  There is a glorious woodland area containing many large species trees, a magnificent assortment of camellias, azaleas, Japanese maples and several ponds. The gardens are extensive and include Mediterranean, kitchen garden and herb areas.  Open by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Marcus Binney.

Directions, Parking and Accessibility

From Victoria Avenue, at La Motte Ford, turn north up La Rue du Galet, then across the junction and up Mont Felard. Continue up La Grande Route de St Laurent and just before St Lawrence Parish Church there will be signs to turn right into La Rue de Bas. Turn immediately into the entrance to Domaine des Vaux which is directly in front of you.

Parking is on grass in the top part of the garden. For the disabled drop off point, please continue down the tarmac driveway to the house.

The Arena garden and the courtyard where cream teas are served are accessed up a couple of steps from the driveway so not easy for wheelchair users. There is an unmade track down the valley to the woodland areas which is suitable for children’s buggies.

We look forward to seeing you there!

JAYF Open Gardens are a fantastic family outing and a joy for garden lovers everywhere. Thank you to everyone who visited or supported our Open Gardens in 2022, we had a very successful season and it wouldn’t have been possible without all our wonderful volunteers and visitors. Guests tried their luck at tombolas and treated themselves to delicious cream tea, served with genuine Jersey clotted cream, milk and butter kindly donated by Fungi Delecti and Jersey Dairy. Thanks also to Neil and Alli Singleton of Birding Tours who ensured guests got the most out of their visit with their wonderful guided Walk and Talks. JAYF are enormously grateful to Aztec Group for its continued support of the Open Garden scheme.
