Meet The Collections

Meet the Collections gives you the opportunity to see some of the fascinating items in our collections that are not usually on display at one of our sites. With a different theme each month, our collections team will be selecting some of their favourite objects to show you and will be on hand to tell you about these objects, where they came from and what they can tell us about our Island’s history.

In September 1942 over 1,000 people who were not of Jersey birth were deported from the Island to internment camps in Germany. Join us at the Sir Francis Cook Gallery where we will be showing some of the objects, art works, diaries, letters and photographs that were created by the deportees and tell us the story of their experiences.

Tours of our social history store will also run at 10am and 11am giving you an opportunity to see many more of the objects in our collection connected to the Second World War.
