You are invited to the St John’s Group of Churches Sea Sunday service at the earlier time this year of 10am on 23rd July 2023 at Bonne Nuit Harbour.
I am excited that we will have His Excellency Vice Admiral Jeremy Kyd CBE and Dr. Kyd attending, and also the crew of the RNLI St Catherine’s lifeboat subject to operational requirements. We will also have a flypast from the Channel Island Air Search plane at 10.40am subject to operational requirements!
There will be a free minibus going from St John’s school playground at 9.30am to and from the service. There is parking in the school playground. Parking will be very limited at Bonne Nuit Harbour (only one or two spaces for people with mobility issues).
A short praise and worship service 35-40 minutes by the St John’s Group of Churches (St John’s Parish Church and URC, Sion), to thank God for the sea and pray for all those who live and work at sea, followed by the blessing of the boats.
We will be joined by the crew of RNLI St Catherine’s lifeboat (subject to operational requirements).
We will have a fly-past by the Channel Islands Air Search plane at 10.40am (subject to operational requirements).
A collection is received to be shared between RNLI, Mission to Seafarers and Channel Island Air Search.
The service includes bible readings, a talk, hymns and prayers.
After the service, the RNLI crew take the Rector (Rev. Beverley Sproats) on the lifeboat around the harbour to bless the boats.
