Short breaks in St Malo

The walled city of St Malo (intra muros) is truly spectacular. Known as “the Corsaire city”, St Malo is steeped in history and tales of piracy from times gone by. The quaint cobbled streets are bustling with cafes, and restaurants. There are street performers and buskers and shops selling and displaying an absolute delight of local, traditional Malouin and Breton fare.

You can walk all around the town ramparts and enjoy the stunning views out to the surrounding islands and across to St Servan where the origins of St Malo were founded by the Welsh monk Maclow in the 8th century. A walk to St Servan is highly recommended for a look at the stunning 14th century Solidor tower and the spectacular views of the mouth of the river Rance.
