Colin Lever

At this point in time I perform solo. These days playing mainly a cafe jazz style of music that lends itself to informal soirees.

I play regularly for the Repair Cafe and at Hamptonne’s La Veil’ye. I helped organise Jersey’ folk festival at the L’Auberge du Nord in conjunction with ArtHouse Jersey. I also played at their Kupala Festival and the Bubbletecture display.

I busked around Jersey, raising money for Jersey Hospice. I have also performed at Jersey’s Wellbeing Hub as well as for the Harbour Gallery, Dementia Jersey, ADHD Jersey, The Royal British legion, MacMillan Jersey, SCOOP and at the Christmas Fayre.

My set includes, Latino, American songbook, some songs from musicals and innovative covers of more modern songs, plus one or two originals. I also have a Country & Western set.  a folk music set and an electro-acoustic set. I can turn my hand to organising musical evenings.

I have run Open-Mic nights at The Victoria (Green Rooster). I also ran singer/songwriter nights at The Trafalgar for the best part of twelve months. I am recording a sit-com podcast, Open-Mic, which is a tribute to all musicians.

My roots are in folk music, performing gigs in my native North-West, the largest being to a crowd of 500 at Oldham Civic Hall. I recorded two albums in the 1980’s. These have been digitally re-mastered and are available to listen to on Bandcamp along with more recent material, recorded here, on Jersey.

Lendanear are a songwriting team: Colin Lever and Norman Warwick. Originally they were a guitar and vocal duo formed in the 1970s, playing mainly folk clubs and festivals in the north of England.
