Mark Leonard

I’ve always enjoyed photography from a young age but never took it seriously, in 2012 I purchased my first DSLR camera which was a Canon 450D and to me it was the best thing ever. As time progressed it felt like it wasn’t good enough and in January 2013 I bought a Cannon 7D and in September 2017 I bought a Nikon D850 of which I still have today. Photography is relaxing and a good way to explore the outdoors it also makes you adventurous in trying new techniques always looking for that extra special shot.

I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from a few people and a few other talented local photographers. One person I will always be thankful to is Gary Stringfellow, as one night down at La Pulente, I plucked up the courage to ask a total stranger some advice on long exposure photography and he explained what I needed to do, I was so made up.

Photography for me has had it’s fair share of up’s and downs, I found it to be an escape at the time, from a part of my life that caused and triggered a complete mental breakdown, which today I still suffer from and people who know me will understand that I take the view, there is nothing to be ashamed of and nothing to hide. I would like to think anyone suffering from this type of illness can take inspiration from my photos and understand that one day things will get better. In time…….
