The Noirmont Command Bunker – Batterie Lothringen

Buried deep into the front of Noirmont Point, this multi-floored restored ‘Leitstand’ (Command Bunker) was originally manned 24/7 by 25 Kriegsmarine (Naval) crew who constantly surveyed the sea with an armoured rangefinder and direction finding periscopes looking for potential targets for the 15cm guns of ‘Lothringen’ emplaced on the headland directly behind the bunker. See and hear how the bunker originally operated plus visit several other bunkers and the multi-floored Observation and Range Finding Tower “MP1” on the headland. Also a chance to get hands on with original equipment plus Jersey War Tours ‘pop-up’ shop with militaria and more on offer!

Batterie Moltke – Les Landes Common, St. Ouen

A vast underground complex originally intended as one of four Naval Coastal Artillery Battery’s to be armed with turreted 15cm guns which never arrived so a temporary 155mm French field gun became the permanent armament manned by the Army. Visit No.4 gun position consisting of 4 ‘fortress’ grade bunkers with 2m thick reinforced concrete walls and roof which are linked by an impressive network of underground corridors. Several areas have been restored and there are is lot of equipment and displays to see plus recording of interviews from people who lived through the Occupation.
