Every site opened is unique from near operational restored condition bunkers including details of original crew members presented with a ‘working atmosphere’ feel to large sprawling underground multi-floored or multi-bunker complex’s!
Batterie Lothringen – Noirmont Point (CIOS)

Visit 6 bunkers of the massive German WW2 Naval Batterie Lothringen and explore bunkers, trenches and gun emplacements! Open are the multi-floored Noirmont Command Bunker, the neighbouring five-floored Naval Observation and Range-Finding Tower ‘MP1’, it supporting Personnel Shelter which retains a rare original large painted mural, No1 Gun’s Personnel Shelter which includes several larger display artefacts, the neighbouring Personnel Shelter with a 2cm anti-aircraft gun emplacement on its roof and finally No.2 Gun’s Personnel Shelter which has details of the loss of the American Navy PT-509 off Noirmont in August 1944 and supports the neighbouring memorial.

Strongpoint Corbiere (CIOS)

Discover several restored bunkers on the headland including the 5cm M19 automatic fortress mortar bunker and 6-loopholed heavy machine gun turret bunker’s which are connected by an impressive tunnel and all unique for Jersey! Apart from visiting multi roomed complexes which always surprise people, there are details of the original crew thanks to the post war return of Engelbert Hoppe who commanded the M19 bunker. Also learn who built these fortifications, the soldiers interactions with neighbouring locals and an escape attempt that ended in disaster on the lighthouse causeway in 1944.

El-Tico Bunker (Jersey Fortifications Study Group)

Beautifully restored by The Jersey Fortifications Study Group, this personnel shelter was part of a key front-line Resistance Nest in St. Ouen’s Bay ready to repel an Allied landing into the bay! Weather permitting, there will also be multiple exterior displays to also see including a ‘Tobruk’ position alongside the bunker armed with a (replica!) machine gun which originally covered the landside of the position. You won’t miss them driving along the 5-Mile road!
