Visit the only German Naval Coastal Artillery Battery in Jersey from the impressive multifloored Command Bunker & the Observation Tower to several other bunkers supporting the battery’s 15cm guns, and if you are adventurous follow the headland’s fortifications trail!
Resistance Nest Millbrook

Often described as the “Jewel of the Atlantikwall” by enthusiasts (!), this beach defence casemate is found on St. Aubin’s Bay promenade next to the ‘Old Station Café and mounts a rare ex-Czech 4.7cm anti-tank gun complete with coaxial machine gun. The bunker largely escaped the post war cleanup so today boasts a near time capsule original appearance from wall panelling with posters still attached to rare complete examples of the ventilation equipment used to protect the bunker’s crew from gas attack and remarkably, the bunker’s lighting still uses the original German cabling! Details of the bunker’s wartime operation are also provided thanks to Herr Henkel who commanded the bunker in 1943/44!
Batterie Moltke – Les Landes, St. Ouen

Explore the vast hidden sprawling complex that is Number 4 Gun Position with a 25 man personnel shelter linked by a network of underground corridors to two ammunition bunkers, an emplacement for a 15cm turreted gun with supporting underground infrastructure plus an emplacement mounting an original 155mm ex-French Field gun. The complex offers multiple restored rooms, exhibits and audiovisual displays covering all aspects the Occupation including civilian and the Liberation.
