Coastal Foraging

We’ve created a series of exclusive events tailor made for our Members. To join an event you must have personal Membership of Jersey Heritage and you’ll need to bring your Membership fob with you on the day.

Kempt Tower Carpark, Grande Route des Mielles, Wednesday 8 February 1pm to 4pm

Taking in the tide and shore line, Kazz Padidar from Wild Adventures will lead JH Members on a foraging walk at St Ouen’s Bay, identifying edible plants, seaweeds and shellfish. Kazz will also track down some coastal plants as we go.

Cooking on a beach fire, we will then prepare the foraged foods and learn about any healthy properties they may hold.

Please be aware that we will be walking on the reef at low tide, which has uneven and slippery terrain. Adequate, waterproof footwear / wellies are required.

£10 per person plus Eventbrite booking fee. Reserve your place here.

Duration of coastal foraging: approx. 2.5 – 3 hours

Difficulty: Moderate

Meeting point: carpark directly opposite Kempt Tower, Grand Route des Mielles, St Ouens

Start time: 1pm

What to bring: Please wrap up warm and bring along waterproofs, wellies and any refreshments you may need.
