Forest Bathing Walk

Do you remember what it is to feel truly alive? Feel your surroundings with all your senses? These are all Forest Bathing attributes

What is Forest Bathing?

It’s also known as Forest or Nature therapy – a wellbeing practice for people and the planet. It began as a health solution, in Japan in the 80s, to an epidemic of stress-related health conditions. The prescription they came up with – to immerse yourself in a natural environment and take it in with your senses, sounds incredibly simple…it may be however the effects are often deep and profound.

On a Forest Therapy Walk, your guide will lead a slow, gentle walk, with some sensory-opening suggestions.

Waterwork’s valley in St. Lawrence is a hidden gem, a quiet valley with a path crafted by parish volunteers that winds its way up past the reservoirs. This valley was once home to many mills, and the remains are still there if you look closely. This valley was also where Vikings settled long ago.

Parts of the path are currently still closed from the impact of Storm Ciaràn, so we’ll walk sections of it.
