Discover the links between Guy Fawkes and Bonfire Night and the Jersey traditions of the Battle of Flowers and end of year celebrations.
At this exclusive FREE event for JH Members, come and listen to stories of Bonfire Nights gone by, take part in the Jèrriais Bonfire Night chant and decorate our parade cart with paper flowers.
3.30pm to 5.30pm
Make a parade lantern, create your carnival mask and join the Jersey Scout Band as we parade from the Jersey Museum concourse to the Weighbridge, with glow sticks and music, as the evening draws in.
Discover how Islanders knew very little about the historical facts of the Gunpowder plot, but took the day of commemoration as an opportunity to line the streets with processions, bands, lanterns, flaming tar barrels, masks and costumes.
All children must be accompanied by an adult, who can also join in.
