Discover the lesser-known history of St Clement as we follow Le Hocq Lane to the old Le Hocq Station, then climb La Houguette to see the site of the planned WWII range tower, followed by the remains of the earlier Royalist fort on the same headland. Quiet lanes lead us on to Batterie Seeckt and the former Lager Rommel forced-labour camp, later used to house German troops.
We then drop to Nicolle Tower, pass the dolmen, continue to Samares Station, and finish at the surviving JER cattle arch before returning to the Parish Hall.
A 4km walk is of moderate difficulty, on mix of lanes, hills and muddy paths – sturdy footwear recommended.
