Kathy Rondel and Jude Davies had an idea whilst painting together one afternoon. Knowing there is a wealth of artistic talent in Jersey that otherwise may go un noticed, they decided to form a group to attract artists and makers to exhibit their talents and named it Les Collectifs.
Their first exhibition was held in December 2024 at Hamptonne which showcased their work. This year the National Trust Jersey, have kindly offered the wonderful seaside space at the Greve de Lecq former cafe, and with a very summery beachside theme the group are showing their recent work for a 10 day period from Tuesday 14th of July, closing on Friday 24th July. During that time, open daily from 10.00am until 4.00pm with free entry, there will be demonstrations by the artists and the opportunity to join workshops in the early evening. Also to purchase beautiful and unusual items.
Greve de Lecq, as well as its gloriously secluded beach, offers wonderful cafes with the famous ‘Colleens Cafe’ and the new outdoor eatery the ‘Ugly Oyster’ seafood bar to tempt you to enjoy the day out experience of shopping at the Les Collectifs exhibition. - Kathy Rondel Kathy’s lifetime of creating art inspired by nature is enhanced by layering mixed media, paper making, collage and gilding, to create fascinating collectable art.
- Jude Davies Millinery and wearable art. Jude has designed and made hair ornaments and brooches as well as summer hats and baskets, featuring appliqué, collage and embroidery.
- Olivia Harper Ouen Home is Olivia’s brand name, her inspiration from the garden is reflected in the gorgeous fragrances she uses in her natural hand poured candles and reed diffusers. All vegan friendly and parabens free and refillable, giving a sustainable alternative to home fragrances.
- Rosalind Varrie Ros is an acclaimed mixed media textile artist, designs and creates unique jewellery, often using modern art and architecture as inspiration, in fabrics, threads, glass, papers, gels and acrylics using methods such as block and digital printing and painting. She also makes ties, cuff links, scarves and cards.
- Laraine Swift is a collector, maker and artist who loves recycling and up cycling to produce unique items inspired by her travels and her love of the changing seasons. Vibrant colours, collage and painting make her works fun and uplifting
- Kelly Swani lifelike depictions of flora and fauna made from paper and metals, invite you to explore the delicacy of the natural world, appreciate the ecosystems and marvel at the challenges of conservation they represent.
- Milly Lacy through her business, Ash Interiors has created a collection of cushions made from remnants, pattern book samples, off cuts and trimmings. These luxurious cushions are wonderful example of sustainable recycling of these beautiful fabrics
- William Davies BrdBx brings a bright, architectural energy to the exhibition. Turning simple colourful forms into bold, functional habitats. Each piece is made locally from sustainable materials, combining clean lines and confident colour into practical designs for wildlife. These boxes for birds, bugs and bats show how small, well-crafted interventions can add life and character as well as ecological value to Jersey’s everyday spaces.
- Ed Varrie Under the name of Lightly Crafted, Ed creates functional and decorative items out of wood and acrylic, using techniques such as laser cutting, engraving, and painting. Featuring inlaid serving boards, photo frames, key rings and personalised items.
- Zoe Felton Eclat Design has a new craft, coastal jewellery. Unique bracelets, necklaces and earrings, featuring starfishes, shells and seahorses, perfect pieces to accessorise a holiday wardrobe and inspired by our coastal lifestyle.
- Lynne Jenner Watercolour is her passion, Lynne observes nature and captures the special moments found in our fragile natural world of wildlife and plants. Lynne has exhibited in Jersey, UK and Tasmania, winning many awards.
- Kaydi Torell Since training in design Kaydi has predominately concentrated on stitching in every shape and form, from draping and making garments to intricate beadwork on highly decorated wearable items, brooches being her signature item, often with a humorous twist.
