Internationally acclaimed jazz-funk pioneers Shakatak return to Jersey for an exceptional live performance.
With over 40 years of success and more than 50 albums released, Shakatak have built a unique sound blending jazz, soul and funk, earning both global recognition and a devoted following.
Led by original members Bill Sharpe, Jill Saward, Roger Odell, George Anderson and Keith Winter, the 6 piece band delivers a dynamic, groove-driven live show renowned for its musical excellence and energy. Their latest album, Eyes of the World (2023), confirms their enduring creativity and international appeal. Off the back of a tour across Japan, South Africa and Europe, Shakatak is touring the UK and now heading for the Channel Islands. Because of the nature of their music their fan base is one that is far reaching while always retaining an “underground” element. This paradox sees the band, who are known primarily for their musicality, enjoying both high “cult” status and instant recognition as a household name due to their numerous hit recordings.

LIVE AT… is a new cultural initiative led by Benjamin Levy, internationally renowned producer and agent specialising in soul, funk and Afro-diasporic music, join us in the launch of the concert series across the Channel Islands. Designed to bring world-class live music and greater diversity to the islands, this new concept connects the UK, the Channel Islands and France through the circulation of international artists. The first edition for 2026 takes place at the Jersey Opera House on 17 July, just ahead of the highly anticipated Guernsey event at Sausmarez Manor on 18 July.
