Summer of Soul

Using archive footage and modern-day interviews, Summer of Soul documents and examines the Harlem Cultural Festival and its impact. Over six Sundays in 1969, African American music and culture was celebrated by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Gladys Knight and Sly and The Family Stone. This fascinating documentary explores the legacy of this extraordinary event and why it remains relatively unknown compared to other famous festivals of the time.
