Wartime St Helier South: Hills and Harbours, with Ian Ronayne

Any stroll through town soon reveals its long and important history – some reminders are obvious, while others are more challenging to spot and interpret. On this fascinating walk, you’ll learn about the military history of St Helier’s southern quarter, around its harbour and across the town hills. Led by historian Ian Ronayne, you’ll examine evidence of Occupation railways, explore Jersey’s last British fortifications, learn about the mighty Napoleonic-era Fort Regent, and visit a beleaguered bunker that once held the keys to St Helier Harbour.
