Crafty Quilters started as a passion from a 5-year-old child being given her first Singer 99 hand cranked sewing machine. My aunts were crafty ladies and as a young child, I was encouraged to sew, knit, crochet and do many other crafts. One of many aunts was a seamstress and taught me everything in sewing and importantly fitting of garments which is a skill not many may have. Now, as people are starting to make their own clothes this has put me in a very good position to help my customers.
My love for crafts has never dwindled, it’s all I ever think about and always dream of my next project, the next quilt or the next garment I am going to make. Many years on, I met and married my husband David who’s always supported my love and passion for crafts, he even purchased the property called La Taniere in Upper Midvale Road so when I retired, I could finally do what I love full time but, as time went on, I couldn’t wait until retirement and I gave up my job as an Executive PA in financial services and opened up Crafty Quilters in La Taniere Upper Midvale Road full time.

I am the approved Agent for Brother and Baby Lock machines.
We always have a good selection of machines available in stock; but if the machines have to be ordered then they are usually down within a week by courier.
The basic Brother L14s (a good beginner’s machine) is £100.00 and prices go up from there. Please check my website: craftyquilters.je All prices include GST on all the brother and baby Lock machines. Guidance and advice is always available, just ask.
As well as a huge range of haberdashery, almost everything you can imagine is in this treasure trove of a shop.
We have over a thousand bolts of fabrics in the shop from Liberty, Tilda, Moda, Makower, Robert Kaufman, Kaffe Fassett, Lewis and Irene and many more, and a large range of curtain and upholstery fabrics in stock including a large selection of curtain tapes, wires and everything you need for your curtains. If you need Leatherette or vinyl’s we also stock a huge range them.
Crafty Quilters also has a nice range of knitting wools in stock, and the largest DMC threads and Anchor wools in the island, in fact the entire range of ALL the DMC threads Mouliné Light Effect, Mouliné Etoile, Mouliné Coloris, Mouliné Color Variations. If you don’t see what you want in the shop, please ask.
We cater for the embroiders, Quilters and Dress makers, please ask when you come into the shop. If we haven’t got it, we will do our best to get it.
Other services we offer
Longarm quilting service. We have a large range of extra wide fabrics backing for your quilts and have a good selection of different waddings. As a quilter myself I can offer you extensive knowledge and help, or if don’t want to quilt your quilt top on your domestic machine we can quilt it for you on my longarm quilting machine at very competitive prices. We also offer the quilting service to our sister islands and to our UK customers. Your quilt will be returned to you by DHL at a shared cost.

Sewing Machine servicing
Need your sewing machine serviced. Just drop it in to the shop and Mike will service it for you he is a trained engineer and will service ALL makes and models of machines, including big computerised machines.
Genuine Jersey and Memory Treasures
We have a range of Jersey gifts and new line of Jersey fabrics soon coming out.
As a proud member of Genuine Jersey, I make bespoke men’s shirts and a lot of other items, bags, toys and many other gifts but my Jersey products sell faster than I can make them.
When time allows, I also make memory quilts, Bears & cushions from loved one’s clothes. This is work that I take very seriously as each item is so individual and precious to its owner.
Crafty Quilters is very environment friendly
99.9% of our deliveries are done on my Cargo bike which, we have been doing all our deliveries over covid and including the delivery of food for our elderly and vulnerable. If we have to collect or deliver any large machines then that’s done in our crafty van.
