Somerville Hotel

Perched on the hillside overlooking the charming village of St Aubin, the Somerville Hotel is one of Jersey’s most celebrated country house hotels.

With a rich history dating back to 1881, this 4-star retreat blends Victorian elegance with modern luxury. Guests can enjoy award-winning service and some of the best views on the island, spanning across the yachting harbour and the vast expanse of St Aubin’s Bay. Whether you’re relaxing in their outdoor pool or exploring the nearby hidden coves, the Somerville offers a tranquil escape with a truly personal touch.

Dining at the Somerville is an experience for the senses. Their flagship restaurant, Tides, serves an expertly crafted menu using the finest local Jersey produce, all set against a backdrop of panoramic sea views. For a more relaxed atmosphere, the Voyager Curiosity Lounge Bar offers a whimsical setting for afternoon tea, artisan cocktails, or a light bite. Here they take you on a voyage across the 7 C’s of curiosities, cocktails, Champagnes, craft spirits, craft beer, cake and above all the original builder and proprietor of the Somerville hotel from 1881 to 1934 – Mr J.W. Chapman. It’s the perfect spot to watch the tide come in with a drink in hand.

From their Classic Inland rooms to Superior Garden sea-view rooms with private terraces, every room at the Somerville is designed for comfort and style. Many of the rooms were refurbished in 2022, featuring elegant decor, Elemis toiletries, and plush furnishings. For the ultimate stay, we recommend choosing a sea-view room to wake up to the sun rising over Elizabeth Castle.
