The Sun Bowls Club was formed in 1970, although there has been a bowls club at the site since 1927 (Sun Works Bowling Club, part of the Overseas Trading Corporation).Today, the club offers a warm welcome to all visitors, guests and potential new bowlers.
We offer opportunities for bowling for all ages and abilities, including casual ‘roll ups’, friendly Sunday Competitions, leagues and knock-out competitions. We also participate in Bowls Jersey inter-club leagues and knock-out competitions. We have matches against other local clubs as well as visiting teams from further afield.
The Club is situated just off the inner road at First Tower and boasts a fine clubhouse (which is a listed building), with full catering facilities and a bar, as well as parking both within the club grounds, and also in the neighbouring public car park (payment required, excluding Sundays). The clubhouse, the green and the surroundings are all maintained by club members.
We can offer tuition and the loan of equipment to potential new bowlers and we have a relaxed dress code for roll ups, knock-out competitions and club leagues. The more relaxed dress code also applies for the many Sunday competitions, while club colours (black below the waist and club shirts/jackets) are worn when representing the club in Bowls Jersey inter club leagues and for visiting teams.
We offer Corporate functions, which can include traditional bowls, fun games and food for a minimum of 20 people, and can guarantee an exciting and enjoyable event which will both challenge and entertain. We can tailor these events to suit individual needs and our energetic and enthusiastic team will give you an event to remember.
