The Sun Bowls Club was formed in 1970, although there has been a bowls club at the site since 1927 (Sun Works Bowling Club, part of the Overseas Trading Corporation).
Today, the club offers a warm welcome to all visitors, guests and potential new bowlers. We offer opportunities for bowling for all ages and abilities, including casual ‘roll ups’, friendly Sunday Competitions, leagues and knock-out competitions, and we participate in Bowls Jersey inter-club leagues and competitions.
We also have matches against other local clubs as well as visiting teams from further afield.The Club is situated just off the inner road at First Tower and boasts a fine clubhouse, with full catering facilities and a bar, as well as parking both within the club grounds, and also in the neighbouring public car park (payment required, excluding Sundays). The clubhouse, the green and the surroundings are all maintained by club members.
We can offer tuition and the loan of equipment to potential new bowlers and we have a relaxed dress code for roll ups, knockout competitions and club leagues. More formal ‘whites’ are worn for Sunday competitions and visiting teams, while club colours (black below the waist and club shirts/jackets) are worn when representing the club in Bowls Jersey inter club leagues. 
Bowls has many attributes and, whilst it’s not an especially energetic sport, it provides many challenges. Above all, it is a social and friendly sport played outdoors in the fresh air. So if you fancy trying something different, why not get in touch and give bowls a try?
