    Things to Make and Do

    Artists Chantal Venton and Peter John Thomson, both tutors of art at Highlands College, present an eclectic collection of ceramics, print, painting and textiles, that reference themes such as landscape and the diversity within Jersey. The exhibition showcases some of their skills and reflects what they deliver at the college.

    Stride For Survivors

    JAAR is excited to launch our first virtual challenge, Stride For Survivors, which is an everyday challenge throughout April 2022.
    We are asking supporters to either walk, run, dance or wiggle their way to 10,000 steps for 30 days to help raise vital funds to support Jersey’s survivors of sexual violence their families and friends.
    By taking part in this challenge, people can help survivors heal from their trauma by setting up a JAAR fundraising page today and getting ready to start striding.
    The challenge will start on 1st April, which sees the start of Sexual Violence Awareness Month and end on 30th or April.
    Funds raised from this challenge will go directly toward helping JAAR to provide:
    • Directly support survivors and families by providing highly specialised 1-to-1 sexual trauma counselling.
    • Providing a 7-day helpline service to the Jersey community
    • Raising awareness of sexual violence in the community and government
    • Providing education to the schools and community of sexual violence might be prevented

    Our tours are free of charge (normal entry fee applies).

    BBC journalist Christina Ghidoni talks about how media and technology has changed in the 40 years BBC Jersey has been broadcasting and how connecting and communicating with the community through radio, TV and the internet has evolved.
    Christina has been a local TV and radio broadcast journalist for 28 years, working at Channel TV, Channel 103 and for the last 12 years at BBC Jersey and is now the station’s Community Journalist.
    Part of the Living Knowledge Networks Breaking the News season.

    Butterfly Theatre Company returns to The Georgian House with an immersive comedy murder-mystery .

    Grab yourself a bidding paddle and leave your opera glasses at the door as you launch yourself into a live auction at 16 New Street!

    Destitute lawyer, Philippe Journeaux, has fallen on hard times and has no other option than to auction off the contents of his family home. As bidders assemble to claw over his priceless collection of fine art and antiques, bidding is cut short when a dead body is discovered. As bumbling detective Baptise Boivin arrives on the scene to investigate, members of the audience become suspects as Boivin attempts to unmask the murderer.
