    Jersey Children's Day

    9:30 am-6:00 pm
    2022.07.03

Jersey Children’s Day is an annual event held on 3 July.

The day is an opportunity to make sure that the lessons of the past are not forgotten and to look forward to brighter futures for children and young people.

This event takes places following a recommendation by a Citizen’s Panel that responded to the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry.

There will be 2 family events taking place on Sunday 3 July 2022:

    • Millbrook Park from 9.30am to 12pm
    • Howard Davis Park from 2pm to 6pm

There will be a range of activities and entertainment for children, young people and families. The activities and entertainment are free and you don’t need to book.

Entertainment will be led by Youth Arts Jersey at Howard Davis Park.

We encourage families and young people to bring a picnic.

We have 1,000 free goodie bags for children and young people to hand out at both events. These include a Fruit Shoot drink and £5 food voucher to spend for food or soft drinks at participating vendors at the events.

    Event’s organisation

The Government of Jersey has worked in partnership with an independent survivors’ steering group to celebrate this year’s Children’s Day. Together we launched a survey to hear how children and young people wanted to celebrate Jersey’s Children’s Day this year.

A total of 332 people took part in the survey. As a result of the feedback, 2 family events will be held.

A special thanks goes to all those who have been involved in organising and supporting the events.

Children’s Day over the last 2 years

The first Children’s Day in Jersey took place in 2020. All schools and nurseries were gifted trees as part of the Tree of Renewal project.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, arrangements for Children’s Day were cut back.
