Our Island identity is shaped by the landscape, our south-facing côtils, the sea that surrounds us. From our iconic Jersey Royal potatoes to our world-famous Jersey cows to our stunning shellfish, Jersey is celebrated for its food.
Step back in time to find an Island covered in apple orchards when cider was our major export, explore the future of farming in an Island with a growing population, and discover some of our local specialities like the famous ‘merveille’ or Jersey wonder.
Our new exhibition will give you plenty of food for thought!

Join Jersey War Tours and visit WW2 bunkers, which are not usually open to the public. JWT will show you how Jersey was made into an impregnable fortress and help you appreciate what the Third Reich was able to create with slave labour.
The tour is also a perfect complement to understanding the history of the D-Day invasion, which took place less than 30 miles away.

Pruning and Grafting Apple and Pear Trees with Vincent Obbard
Enjoy a workshop of practical information and hands-on learning about the art and science of grafting and pruning apple and pear trees.The morning will start with coffee in the front hall in the manor at 9.30 a.m and will include a short walk to look at how Samarès’ trees are pruned, so warm clothes are essential as is a sharp penknife! Participants can choose between an apple or a pear (the pear on offer will be a Chaumontel – the premier pear that was exported from Jersey in the 19th Century).

Price: £25 Members
You will receive a rootstock and a scion to graft and take home for planting (max 10 people)

Lent Lunch
The St John’s Group of Churches Lent lunches will take place at St John Parish Hall on Saturdays 17th February, 2nd March and 16th March between 12noon and 2pm.This year at our Lent lunches we will be supporting Christian Aid and the ministry and mission of St. John’s Parish Church.The lent lunches of soup, bread, cheese and crackers are free, and donations are welcome after your lunch by cash, card reader, QR codeDo please join us at our lunches and invite family and friends to join us.Children’s activities are available.
